Aston Martin Cygnet

Given the fleet average emissions standards imposed by the European Union for 2012, Aston Martin were forced to build a brand new luxury city car that would produce way less CO2 emissions than your regular DB9 or DBS models.

So they came up with the Cygnet, a model based on the Toyota iQ (Scion iQ), which the critics did not receive very well. First deliveries were made up to the already existing owners of Aston Martin models, but the British carmaker announced plans to sell the vehicle to the overall public as well.

And since no one really cared about a small Toyota with fancy upholstery, Aston Martin decided to kill the model after only two years in production. In the UK at least, the Cygnet only sold 150 units per year out of the 4,000 target.
