GMC Denali

The Yukon Denali receives GM’s 6.2-liter V8 as standard, and it is exclusive to Denali models. This big, honkin’ V8 is as modern as American powertrains come despite its size, and puts out a whopping 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque.

Thankfully, gas mileage is somewhat salvaged despite the power figures thanks to active fuel management technology, which shut off four of the eight cylinders based on load and power demand. The EPA gives the Yukon Denali a combined rating of 17 mpg.

The 8-speed automatic transmission also helps fuel economy along, but is most notable for its seamless and almost unnoticeable shifts, even under full acceleration load.
