Mercedes-Benz GLC

As part of Mercedes-Benz's model renaming scheme, in 2015, the GLK class became the GLC, with the letter "G" standing for gelandewagen (German for off-road vehicle), "L" acting as a linkage to the "C" which tells the new model is the SUV equivalent of the C-Class sedan. Getting in line with the automaker's new fluid design, the GLC also steps up with excellent safety features as standard, 19% increase in efficiency, new Air Body Control suspension, an extended range of Dynamic Select transmission modes as well as a brand new spacious interior packed with technology.

Extensive use of aluminum throughout the body also makes the Mercedes-Benz GLC lighter than the previous GLK. The passenger cell uses ultra-high-strength steel for increased protection, while the door profiles have been reinforced for the same purpose.

Pedestrian protection was also a concern and the GLC comes with an active hood, pedestrian detection and auto-brake.
